NASA seeks to explore the universe for signs of alien life. What it may mind is anyone’s guess. The TESS is telescope is already more powerful than the Hubble telescope which is nearing its endlife. TESS will work by analying the “transit” or pathways of planets as they pass by their suns. This will produce a deflection in light which may be evident of a planet. Determing if a planet exists may be the easy part, but determining if the planet(s) are in the “Goldilocks” zone is another story. As a reminder, any planets found are probably hundreds or thousands of light years away. Getting there to verify is another issue entirely.
